We are based in Asunción, Paraguay. This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect when you visit the Site or use our services, why we collect it, how we use and protect it, and what rights you have.

1. Information we collect

Information you provide directly — name, email address, phone number, country of residence or nationality, and any message or details you share when you book a free consultation or contact us through the Site.
— If you proceed with our services, copies of documents such as your passport, birth certificate, marriage certificate, criminal background check, and financial or investment documentation, collected solely to introduce you to and coordinate with our independent legal partner in Asunción, who carries out the actual residency, visa, or investor process on your behalf.
— Records of emails, messages, or calls between you and Start In Paraguay.

Information collected automatically — IP address, browser type, device information, pages viewed, referring URL, and timestamps as you browse the Site.
— Data collected via the Meta (Facebook/Instagram) Pixel and Google Analytics, used to measure how visitors interact with our advertising campaigns and the Site.

2. How we use your information

— To respond to inquiries and schedule free consultations.
— To assess eligibility and prepare an introduction to our legal partner for residency, visa, or investor services.
— To share necessary documentation with our legal partner so they can carry out the immigration process you have engaged them for.
— To send you information you have requested about our services, pricing, or the Paraguayan residency process.
— To operate, maintain, and improve the Site.
— To measure and optimize our advertising campaigns.
— To comply with legal obligations and protect against fraud or misuse of our services.

We do not use your immigration or identity documents for any purpose other than facilitating the service you requested, and we do not sell your personal data to third parties.

3. Who we share information with

— Our independent legal partner (law office in Asunción), to carry out the residency, visa, or investor process you have engaged us for.
— Our hosting provider (Netlify), to host and serve the Site.
— Our email and workspace provider (Google Workspace), for business communications.
— Meta (Facebook/Instagram) and Google, to run and measure our advertising campaigns.
— Government authorities, where required by Paraguayan or other applicable law, or as part of the residency/visa application itself.

These providers process data under their own privacy policies and, where applicable, under data processing agreements with us. We do not permit them to use your personal data for their own independent marketing purposes.

4. Cookies & tracking technologies

The Site uses cookies and similar technologies, including the Meta Pixel, to keep the Site functioning correctly, to understand how visitors use the Site, and to measure the performance of our advertising campaigns. You can control or disable cookies through your browser settings, and manage how Meta uses your data for advertising through your Meta Ad Preferences. Disabling cookies may affect how the Site functions.

5. Sensitive documents

We understand that passports, birth/marriage certificates, criminal background checks, and financial records are highly sensitive. We only request these documents once you have engaged our services, only share them with the legal partner handling your case, never use them for marketing, and retain them only as long as necessary to complete your process. Please send documents only through the secure channel we provide, and avoid unsecured methods where possible.

6. Legal basis for processing (EU/EEA visitors)

If you are located in the European Union or European Economic Area, we rely on the following legal bases under the GDPR: consent (for marketing and non-essential cookies), performance of a contract (to provide services you request), legitimate interests (to operate and improve the Site and measure advertising), and legal obligation (where processing is required by law).

7. Data retention

We retain contact and consultation data for as long as necessary to respond to your inquiry and, if you become a client, for the duration of your engagement plus a reasonable period afterward for record-keeping and legal purposes. Immigration and identity documents are retained only as long as needed to complete the relevant process, after which they are securely deleted unless a longer retention period is required by Paraguayan law.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete the personal data we hold about you, object to or restrict certain processing (including direct marketing), request a portable copy of your data, and withdraw consent at any time. Visitors in the European Union have these rights under the GDPR; visitors and residents in Paraguay have corresponding rights under Paraguay's Law No. 6534/2020 on the Protection of Personal Data. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at info@startinparaguay.com.

9. International data transfers & security

Because we operate from Paraguay and use service providers based in other countries, your data may be transferred to and processed elsewhere. We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data, though no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

10. Children's privacy

The Site and our services are not directed at, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from, individuals under the age of 18. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal data, contact us so we can delete it.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal or operational reasons. The "Last updated" date above indicates when it was last revised.
